The release of Adobe’s long-awaited next-gen suite of creative applications, Creative Suite 6 (CS6) is just around the corner.
Creative Suite has been refreshed and some applications in the suite even receiving completely new user interfaces. And with a completely new option Adobe is offering the complete suite on month-to-month contracts as well as in boxed format.
New apps have been introduced such as Adobe Muse while more well-known apps will be a lot more brisk; Photoshop CS6 comes with the new Mercury Graphics Engine which promises “near instant results” there are also many enhancements across the suite.
New versions of InDesign, Dreamweaver, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere Pro and Flash Pro will also make a debut.
CS6 getting all Clouded
The “Creative Cloud” is in essence an online dock containing the full list of CS6 apps, where you can download and install them at will (only on two machines).
To utilise the creative cloud, you’ll need to be an annual subscriber or on a month-to-month plan. Thinking in terms of an organisation that needs to bring on a few people for a little while for example for the duration of a creative project or marketing campaign, this is perfect.
The cloud version does actually offer more than the top end box version — there’s 20GB of online file storage, the Touch tablet apps and a tablet publishing app, Lightroom for photo cataloguing plus the new Edge and Muse web publishing tools.

- Master Collection CS6 – Acrobat X Pro, After Effects, Audition, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Flash Pro, Flash Builder, InDesign, Illustrator, Lightroom, Photoshop Extended, and Premiere Pro.
